Postavio sam pitanje na Paypal fanpageu i ovaj decko mi je odgovorio da necemo moci imati Paypal dok ne udjemo u EU, sad da li je ta informacija tacna ili ne, ne znam stvarno.
Hi!
I just wanted to ask a few questions about Paypal..
[Paul David]
...I'm responding to your question on your post on PayPal's page now.
...please go ahead
[You]
You are in Paypal Customer service?
[Paul David]
..something like that.
[You]
So, how do you know this?
If this is true, we will not get Paypal untill 2019..
hahahah
[Paul David]
....The United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Poland and all these other European countries that Paypal's services localized for their nations, all have one thing in common:
[Paul David]
Their all Member-states of the European Union and the Eurozone.
...Many people have to use foreign PayPal accounts that aren't in their country, to have an account
[Paul David]
...Most PayPal accounts won't run into any issues as long as they have been properly Verified and are not used for transactions that are consistent with typical, international Money-laundering.
[such as being limited, or forbidden from sending outgoing funds]
[You]
Ok, thanks for that. But then what is this policy update for?
[Paul David]
..every PayPal service issues 'Policy updates' to keep its customers informed of changes in Government legislation, usually regarding taxation and stuff like that
[You]
one of my friends received this email from paypal support
[Paul David]
...and how business's using PayPal to accept payment for goods or services are supposed to declare their earnings and when
- What did it say ?
[You]
a sec
[Paul D.]
...Take your time.
[You]
Dear Name,
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding our updates, I am happy to
assist you today.
I have investigated this issue for you and yes this information is
correct. Our International Team is working hard to expand our services
as rapidly as possible. Our service will be available to Serbia,
Macedonia and Montenegro shortly. I recommend that you go to the PayPal
website and click "Worldwide" at the bottom of the page to check for
regular updates.
It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing PayPal.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas
PayPal
And I also talked to Paypal agent via Telephone and she said to me that this information is also correct. That Serbia will get paypal shortly.
Maybe she meant shortly by '3011' lol Smile
And by the way, Switzerland is not part of EU.
Bosnia, Croatia- they are not also part of EU.
[Paul David]
- that means that eBay Inc., the owners of PayPal, are trying to make inroads with the Serbian government & its major banks, EFT-POS system providers, to establish a working PayPal service for your country that will allow you to have your own localized version of PayPal that lets you spend using your Serbian Bank account and local Debit card providers.
[You]
Look Paul, we had news from 2000 almost that Paypal will come into Serbia shortly.. Last year, they said that the last part was made and that the paypal will come in the beginning of 2011 and still nothing happened.. I think that our country is lying us.
[Paul David]
- Switzerland has economic open-ness treaties *with* the EU that allow it to be part of PayPal's International services, since Swiss banking institutions use the same electronic systems, EU banks do, to process electronic transactions like the rest of the West.
- That's why.
but you are right. Switzerland's not an actual sitting member of the European Union
[You]
I can't believe that 190 countries are allowed on Paypal, and only 200 countries are in the whole world..
This is so so horrible..
Even the smallest countries in Africa have paypal and we don't have it.. So shame for our country..
I don't blame Paypal, I blame Serbia!..
And I think I know the main reason, we have the rule that we are not allowed to make any bank accounts in other foreign countries.
But maybe that's not the reason.
[Paul David]
South Africa does, but not Nigeria, Uganda, Sudan, Eritrea, Egypt and all those other countries.
...mainly because, like Canada and Australia - my own country -,
South Africa is a British Commonwealth nation
[You]
Are you 100% sure that Serbia will not receive Paypal untill we become an part of EU?
I will post an question on Twitter also, maybe I will get an response.
[Paul David]
...Some countries that aren't full liberal democracies, forbid its citizens from possessing valid foreign bank accounts for the purposes of tightly monitoring Tax evasion.
Israel used to be like that, up until a number of years ago, too.
